  • Stephanie Nelson, BSN, RN, CCRN-NICU, IBCLC, MMCHW

    Postpartum Care Nurse

Stephanie is passionate about honoring matrescence—the powerful transformation into motherhood that unfolds not just physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. She believes that birth is most supported when it takes place in a space where the birthing person feels safe, comfortable, and undisturbed.

Out-of-hospital birth allows the natural rhythm of labor to emerge, supporting the body’s hormonal flow and letting physiologic birth unfold as nature intended. When free from unnecessary intervention, laboring mothers move instinctively and intuitively, guided by their body’s wisdom. Babies born in this environment often arrive with strong reflexes, reduced stress, and a readiness to feed and bond.

Stephanie values the sacred early moments between parent and baby—uninterrupted, skin-to-skin, and rooted in connection. She believes this gentle start lays the foundation for a thriving family, where trust, love, and confidence grow from the very first breath.

She believes birth is not just a clinical event, but a sacred, transformative moment—one that deserves to be honored with presence, compassion, and respect.

Out-of-hospital care can allow for a more personal, relationship-based model that supports families holistically. It gives space for birth to unfold naturally, in an environment where people feel safe, seen, and supported.
