Birth in Color Midwifery is a practice that reaches far beyond the care of the mother-baby dyad. It is a space rooted in the belief that the entire family unit deserves to be seen, supported, and integrated into every aspect of care. We understand that true midwifery care is not transactional—it is relational. Relationships foster safety, trust, and mutual respect, and we believe those elements should be the foundation of every birthing experience.
We proudly and unapologetically serve all individuals and families who seek an out-of-hospital birth experience, regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, family structure, religion, or background. Discrimination has no place in our practice, and we do not tolerate it in any form. Our care is intentionally inclusive and grounded in the understanding that birth does not exist in a vacuum—it happens within a broader context of identity, culture, and systemic injustice. Our postpartum care nurses stand out in their field, bringing invaluable experience from diverse NICU backgrounds. This expertise is further enriched by their personal experiences with home births, allowing them to provide nurturing and holistic support to families. Their combined knowledge and personal insights enable them to create a seamless and compassionate integration of care that enhances the overall experience for parents and newborns alike.

Midwifery Anywhere Program (MAP)
Online or in-person, “New and Innovative,” The Midwifery Anywhere Program is a membership with Birth in Color Midwifery that offers personalized, family-centered mentorship for expecting and postpartum families—whether you’re in-state or out-of-state. Rooted in cultural affirmation and ancestral wisdom, this program provides virtual support, education, and emotional guidance throughout your birth journey. We’re here to walk alongside you with heart, knowledge, and care wherever you are.

Postpartum Care and Debriefing
Birth in Color provides postpartum care through 12 weeks into the fourth trimester for each family under our direct care and for families who choose to birth elsewhere. Everyone on our team has extensive training in Maternal and Mental Health Community work, which allows us to extend grace in what is known as the fourth trimester.
Evaluation of postpartum mood disorders, integration with family, birth spacing, sex and intimacy after a baby, birth control options if desired, and so much more are discussed.

We want to be accessible and allow families to experience out-of-hospital family-centered care. We invite you to ask if this is an option that speaks to you. Genetic Testing
Birth in Color Midwifery is excited to offer prenatal genetic testing that is simple and seamless to EVERYONE who desires it. With a straightforward blood draw, you can have a complete evaluation of the baby’s genetic information, even without the father’s information. You can opt in or out of finding out your baby’s gender.

Interuterine Insemination (IUI)/ Fertility
Online or in-person consultations are available for this service. We believe in inclusivity. We offer intrauterine insemination (IUI) as part of our commitment to providing compassionate, accessible, and inclusive care for all families. IUI is a simple, low-intervention fertility option that allows us to support individuals and couples who are growing their families in a variety of ways. Whether you’re an LGBTQ+ couple, a single parent by choice, or someone navigating fertility challenges, we believe you deserve respectful, personalized support in a setting that feels safe and familiar. By offering IUI, we aim to reduce barriers to fertility care and provide a gentle, affordable alternative to more invasive procedures. Birth in Color feels very blessed to offer direct pediatric follow-up to the families we are serving. This creates continuity of care with the same heart and soul you started care with.
Pediatric appointments are available in the office, home, or virtual, depending on the reason care is needed. We now can offer care to all of your children regardless if they were born at home.
