Insurance Reimbursement
At Birth in Color Midwifery, we are considered an out-of-network provider with all insurance plans, with the exception of Medicaid. While we do not bill insurance directly, many families choose to seek partial reimbursement for services after their baby is born. We work with an outside billing company that specializes in insurance reimbursement, and we provide the necessary superbills and support to help guide you through that process. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and is dependent on your individual insurance plan.
To explore whether your insurance may offer out-of-network reimbursement, you may complete the Verification of Benefits (VOB) form below. This tool will give you insight into your plan’s potential for reimbursement after care has been provided.
As a reminder, once a client reaches 37 weeks gestation—considered full-term—no refunds will be issued, as the majority of prenatal services and birth preparation have already been rendered.

Cash Pay / Out of Pocket
At Birth in Color Midwifery, we honor each family’s journey and recognize that financial circumstances vary. For clients paying out of pocket, we offer clear, upfront pricing and flexible options to make midwifery care accessible without adding unnecessary stress or barriers.
We do not require tax returns, financial forms, or proof of income. Instead, we trust and respect families who share their needs with us and may be seeking a variation in cost. We are honored to support those conversations with care and compassion.
